Hotel Chocolat was founded in 2003 by entrepreneurs Angus Thrilwell and Peter Harris. Today, they are one of the UK’s best known chocolate shop chains. Over the past 10 years, they have brought ‘real’ chocolate to the High Street with a chain of over 50 stylish but friendly stores. They also have a very popular online store that sells a wide range of chocolate gifts for every occasion.

Hotel Chocolat’s products fall into two main categories; fun and stylish gifts (for birthdays, Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day, etc.), and their “Rabot 1745″ range of single origin products, named after the company’s own cocoa estate in St Lucia.

Some Hotel Chocolat products (usually in Rabot range) are made with beans from their own plantation, The Rabot Estate, where Hotel Chocolat opened their first hotel in 2011. Most of their range however is made with Ghanaian cocoa.

Hotel Chocolat also produce a growing range of savoury products, including cocoa pasta and cocoa and chilli infused olive oil. They have also recently opened a “cocoa cuisine” restaurant in London’s foodie district, Borough Market, where every dish contains cocoa in some form.
